Affiliate Disclosure

Which programs we’re part of
HypoallergenicCat participates in the following affiliate programs:
- Amazon Associates— Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- Chewy affiliate program (via Impact)
- Direct partnerships with individual brands when we choose to cover their products; these are always labelled inline.
The list above is updated whenever we add or drop a program.
How affiliate links are marked
Every affiliate link on this site carries the rel="sponsored noopener" attribute, opens in a new tab, and is visually identical to other outbound links. We do not use cloaking, hidden redirects, or pixel tracking on outbound clicks beyond what the affiliate network itself sets.
How we keep editorial independence
This is the part that matters. A few rules we hold ourselves to:
- Recommendations come first, links come after. We decide what to recommend based on research, owner reports, and where applicable our own testing — then we check whether an affiliate link exists. If a better product is not in any affiliate program, we still link to it, just without a commission.
- No paid placements. No brand has ever paid us to be listed, ranked higher, or written about. If that ever changes, the post in question will say so at the top.
- No free product reviews without disclosure. If a brand sends us a product to test, the review will say so. We keep the right to publish negative reviews of free samples and we have done so.
- Commissions never decide rankings. The product that pays the highest commission is sometimes also the best product, but often it is not. When the two disagree, the better product wins.
What you should still verify yourself
We write carefully but we are not your vet, your allergist, or your lawyer. Before you act on anything here:
- Check current price and reviews on the retailer’s page — prices and ratings drift.
- For medical questions, talk to a board-certified veterinary dermatologist or an allergist.
- For breeder selection, verify health-testing claims directly with the breeder and ask for the actual test certificates.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is published in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255 (Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising).
